Every dollar that you spend at Coolum Surf Club goes towards helping our Volunteer Life Savers keep Coolum Beach safe.
Funds raised by our licensed Club go to Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club for the purchase of much-needed lifesaving equipment and provide training for our 240+ volunteer Surf Life Savers.
While surf lifesavers volunteer their time, the costs of setting up a single beach patrol can add up to more than $80,000 worth of necessary life-saving equipment i.e. rescue boards, inflatable rescue boats, first aid kits, defibrillators, and much more. Our Beachfront Restaurant serves lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
Our surf club is the ONLY surf club in Australia to feature a genuine wood fired char-grill, all our steaks are cooked over this iron bark fueled coal pit giving them a sweet smokey taste you won’t find anywhere else.
We have an exciting menu ideal for those long, leisurely lunches or special dinners. You’ll find something on our menu to suit all tastes, from fresh local seafood to homemade gourmet pizzas. Our wide variety of salads, juicy steaks and our fabulous house made desserts will be sure to tantalise your taste buds.

We have lots of entertainment options with Free Trivia every Tuesday night, Bingo on Thursday, Live and Local Music every Friday and Saturday night, Free Raffle on Friday night and Live Sports in our Sports Bar every day of the week.
We offer to members and visitors our Beachfront Restaurant featuring a Wood Fired Char Grill, Café, Great Bar & Wine List, A modern Gaming Room featuring 48 pokies, TAB & Sports betting & Keno.

From humble beginnings
History of Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club & Culture
The birth of surf lifesaving in Coolum Beach coincides with a spirit of optimism in a tiny, isolated speck of a settlement back in 1919.
It was Coolum’s time to ‘have a go’, after the end of the Great War in Europe the year before, and with the Twenties ready to roar full steam ahead. Coolum SLSC struggled to train and maintain enough fit men at first, but kicked on in the 1930s – despite the World Depression.
Over the years the club has survived major challenges like World War II, when most of its active men joined up to fight and a number died in battle. It is a legacy of loyalty and faith in one another that continues to this day through the unpaid efforts of about 200 active Coolum lifesavers.
In 2010, Coolum SLSC adopted its motto – ‘The Heart of Coolum Since 1919… Your Club For Life’ – not long after opening its remodeled clubhouse with $2 million worth of improvements, including the best training facilities available.
